Perfect Circle
The third President Gas album - "Perfect Circle" was released in March 2011. The album marks a return to rock with a big new sound.
The album opens with "Outa My Head", a quick three minute power pop explosion of guitars and drums leading into the 80's retro cool of "Under the Sun". "We Can Make This Day" is the album's anthem big and bold with a hooky chorus. Elsewhere the title track "Perfect Circle" tells a tale of the dispossessed, the less fortunate delivering the message “you can change” and it starts with you.
“Hollywood Whisper” takes a tongue in cheek look at the movies. You know, when the star utters a key line in a way that would sound ridiculous in real life! All in all this album represents a return to rock roots after the more eclectic styling of the previous disc.

Sound on Sound
President Gas released their second album - "Sound on Sound" - in August 2007. The feel is a little different from the 'Star' songs - more organic maybe, perhaps a little less straight ahead rock.
The album features eleven new songs written and recorded over the previous three years. From the opener "Rain" through to the quietly powerful closing song "Long Way Home", this is an album of contrasts and surprises. "Darkness Falls" promises to be of those grower songs that will stay with you for a long time, and the acoustic ballad "Lost" might just haunt your dreams too.
Sound on Sound is literally that - the songs were built up from scratch in the studio over a period of time. The song Sound on Sound is a literal reference to the joys (and frustrations) of hiding away in a room, crafting songs that no one will hear. As the song says "...probably wasting my time, but it's all that I have"

Star
The 'Gas spent a year and a half working on their first album called "Star". In July 2001 the band recorded seven songs over a few days at Vision Studios in Wellington.
...they then decided that seven songs was not enough - and Scott had a bunch of new songs written during a recent trip to Australia with his sometime collaborator Kieren Colville - so they headed back to the studio to record four more songs (H.Shoes, Give a little love, Neva Letta Go and Closing Time).
Finally the thing was done in early 2003.
