Band History
President Gas is Scott Wylie, Paul Lee, Barry White (not that one!) and Greg Milne. These guys have played together in various Wellington bands (Shadow Fax, Tokyo, Secret Egypt) and incarnations over the years.
The band has been together more than twelve years, not the Rolling Stones by any means but still a pretty good stretch! There has been a number of drummers over that period: Pat McLaughlin (ex Shadowfax/Tokyo/Secret Egypt) manned the drum stool until 2003 and performed on the "Star" album. Barry's son Ben White then took over the sticks for near four years recording "Sound on Sound". The triumvirate was completed when Greg joined in 2008.
For those younger folks among you the band is named after an old song by 80's band the Psychedelic Furs that the band covers from time to time - a great song with a monster guitar riff!
Scott
Scott is the lead singer and main songwriter for President Gas. You can check out Scott's full bio here and previous band at: www.strangeidols.com.

Greg
Greg is the newest member of President Gas having joined the band on drums in May 2008. He loves nothing more than playing live so has been working hard learning the President Gas back catalogue.
By day Greg is an IT Project Manager, by night he's one half of the President Gas rhythm section. Greg started out playing the trombone, he switched to guitar but soon realised that the drummer gets to sit down so picked up the drums instead.
His main influences include Radiohead, U2, The White Stripes, Pearl Jam, The Foo Fighters and Beck. His drumming heroes are Thomas Lang (Independant), Matt Cameron (Soundgarden, Pearl Jam) and Mike Webber (Planetshakers band)
If he's not at work or behind the drumset you'll most likely find him goofing off with his young son or watching motorsport on TV.
